Glossy Box - May 2012
I finally decided to subsribe to my first beauty box, Glossy Box. I've started to want to try out new products recently, mainly for hair and skin, as I think my daily routine is not that great (face - make up wipes and eye make up remover, hair - shampoo, conditioner and hair oil). As well as finding new products for myself I think it would be great for any readers interested in this too, so you can get a review of all the samples that come my way. I always appreciate your thoughts on my posts so feel free to tell me what you think about this new type of post!
Noble Isle Bath and Shower Gel - I'm not a big fan of shower gel as I think the only difference I notice is the smell. It's a pretty standard shower gel which apparently smells of elderberry but all I smell is citrus! It is quite a nice invigorating smell so maybe a good one to use in the morning? But at £20 for a 250ml bottle I don't think it'll be worth it.
Lolita Lempicka L'Eau en Blanc - I genuinely liked this perfume. The initial smell was okay but after it had evaporated it smelt really lovely, very sweet and floral. It reminded me of something I'd smelt before and I came to the conlusion it was a bit like talcum powder, which I love!
Lolita Lempicka Eau de Parfum - I wasn't such a fan of this one. It was sweet and really licorice-y, which I didn't like. Again the initial smell was strong but it died down after a few minutes into a kind of smoky woody smell, which isn't my preference of fragrance.
Apivita Moisturising Beauty Mask - I loved the smell of this, another floral and sweet smell. The consistency of the mask I think is perfect for moisturisation, not runny and not too thick. The first time I used it my skin did feel noticeably softer straight after rinsing it off, however in the morning my T-zone was more oily than usual which is a big problem for me as that is the type of skin I have and I am prone to break outs. So for that reason I stopped using it. I think drier types of skin would benefit more from this.
Osmo Berber Oil - I was really happy I received a hair oil treatment in my box. I currently use hair oil and have loved using it, but this one is much better. I've been using it every day since I got it, on my ends of dry hair. It dries very quickly and leaves your hair feeling instantly soft. I would definitely buy this one over the one I currently use (Argan Oil) especially at £10!
HD Brows Grow Baby Grow - I was over the moon when I found this in the box. I've heard and read so many good reviews about HD Brows products I wanted to try them anyway. This one is a growth serum which you put on your brows twice a day to promote growth which is perfect for me as my brows are very sparse. I've been using it for the past few days but I'll give it at least a month before I expect to see a difference.
Some sweet extras were this compact mirror and balloon. It was Glossy Box's first birthday this month and overall I am fairly happy with the box. For a birthday box I think I would expect a little bit extra but there are two items I'm really really happy with and would probably buy again. Happy Birthday Glossy Box!
xx
